The Cheltonian Association
Open to all golfing abilities, the OC Golf Society is the largest and most active of the OC Sports Clubs with over 140 members. We play some of the best courses in the country; in fact our fixture list for 2011 took us to 10 of the top 100 courses in the UK! Most of the Societies’ fixtures are open to all members and the Society offers an excellent opportunity to meet other OCs. It is relatively inexpensive as most golf clubs offer us preferential rates against those normally charged to visitors. Our Under 25 members receive a further subsidy from the OC Golf Society.
The main members to contact are Charlie Elliott (Secretary) – firstname.lastname@example.org ) – and Chris Griffiths Jones (Captain) -
Both can arrange for you to be signed up for membership just £25 per annum. This gives you the opportunity to play in any of our fixtures.
We boast a membership from recent leavers to those with seven decades of experience. All ages are welcome and one of the great attractions of golf is that you can participate against others of different abilities.
For those single figure handicappers the Society enter teams to represent College at all of the major meetings of the public Schools Golfing Society and the Public Schools Old Boys Golf Association, including the Halford Hewitt, the Grafton Morrish, The G. L. Mellin Salvers, the Edward Harris Cup, The Midland Public Schools and the Alba Trophy. We have five matches against other Public school Golf Societies and have an annual match against College; the Society also has an internal Summer match and an Autumn meeting that give us the opportunity to dual against each other for some marvelous and historic silverware.
Recent new fixtures include the Midland Public Schools Open and a match against Brecon Old Boys.
