Cheltonian Society AGM
Outcome of the Cheltonian Society AGM on Saturday 10th May
32 to 3 members voted, at the Cheltonian Society's AGM on Saturday 10th May, for the Cheltonian Society and Cheltonian Association to come together as mutually supportive organisations. The two bodies will work together for the benefit of OCs but remain as two distinct bodies with clearly defined and separate responsibilities.
The Association will take sole responsibility for the organisation of all activities and events and for all publications (except for the Who's Who Register). This will include: all OC reunions, sporting events and newsletters etc. The Association will also be responsible for the maintenance and development of the Database.
The Society will be solely responsible for the granting of loans and grants to College and the award of OC prizes. They will continue to be responsible for the publication of the Who's Who, for acting as a conduit to the Cheltonian endowment Trust and for giving assistance to the College Archives. The Cheltonian Society Executive Committee will continue to oversee these responsibilities and will, in addition, have representation on the Cheltonian Association Steering Group and College Council.
The Cheltonian Association is currently looking to appoint an OC Administrator who will, inter alia, help to administer the OC events etc undertaken by the Association and act as a Secretary to the Society.
